CPV partners with young football talents from Dong Nai province

On the morning of August 8, 2024, the 20th Dong Nai Newspaper - C.P. Vietnam Children’s Football Cup officially kicked off at the Indoor Arena of the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center. Marking its 20th edition, the tournament continues to affirm its sustainability, credibility, and strong standing within the children’s football community.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyễn Sơn Hùng, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders from provincial departments and agencies; Mr. Đào Anh Tuấn, Editor-in-Chief of Dong Nai Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee; and from C.P. Vietnam, Mr. Pawalit Ua-Amornwanit, Chief Executive Officer of C.P. Vietnam.

The 2024 tournament will take place from August 8 to August 14, 2024, with the participation of 11 talented children’s teams representing districts and cities across Dong Nai Province. The competition provides an excellent opportunity for young players to showcase their talent, improve their skills, and engage in exchange and learning through a healthy and positive sporting environment.

The championship team will receive a prize of VND 20 million, the runner-up VND 15 million, while the two third-place teams will each receive VND 10 million. In addition, awards will be presented for the Fair Play Team as well as individual honors, including Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer, and Best Player of the Tournament.

By accompanying this tournament, C.P. Vietnam aims to work closely with the Organizing Committee to identify, encourage, and develop school-level football talent, thereby contributing to the foundation for future generations of football players in Dong Nai Province. This initiative is also part of the Company’s “Growing Together with C.P. Towards the Future” program, which is being implemented with a long-term vision toward a sustainable future.

Through this Children’s Football Tournament, C.P. Vietnam fully supports and looks forward to working together with Dong Nai Newspaper to create healthy sports playgrounds where students can freely express their talents and pursue their passion.”

Tournament details:

The 20th Dong Nai Newspaper – C.P. Vietnam Children’s Football Cup brings together 11 children’s teams from districts, Bien Hoa City, and Long Khanh City. Participating teams consist of primary school students (born in 2014 or later, with up to three players born in 2013) during the 2023–2024 academic year.

The 11 participating teams are divided into two groups: one group of five teams and one group of six teams. Teams compete in a single round-robin format within their respective groups, with points determining the group rankings. The top four teams comprising the first and second, ranked teams from each group, advance to the semifinals. the first-place team from Group A competes against the second-place team from Group B, while the first-place team from Group B faces the second-place team from Group A. These matches are played in a single-elimination format to determine the two finalists. The two teams defeated in the semifinals are jointly awarded third place, while the two winning teams advance to the final match to compete for the championship title.

The championship team will be awarded the trophy, flag, gold medals, a cash prize of VND 20 million, and additional in-kind prizes. The runner-up team will receive the flag, silver medals, and a cash prize of VND 15 million. The two teams sharing third place will each be awarded the flag, bronze medals, and a cash prize of VND 10 million.

The Fair Play Team Award will be presented with a flag and a cash prize of VND 3 million. In addition, individual awards will be presented, including Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer, and Best Player of the Tournament.
