CPV Food Co., Ltd. Receives Integrated International Quality Certification and Launches the “3 Safety” Program

Achieving the CPF Food Standard certification marks an important milestone in C.P. Vietnam Corporation’s journey toward elevating its food production standards.

On May 8, at CPV Food Co., Ltd., a member company of C.P. Vietnam Corporation under the Charoen Pokphand Group, the company held a Ceremony for the Presentation of the Integrated International Quality Certification and the launch of the “3 Safety” program. The event marked another important milestone in the adoption of global food governance standards in Vietnam, contributing to enhanced quality, transparency, and international competitiveness for Vietnamese processed food products in the global market.

Overview of the Ceremony for the Presentation of the Integrated International Quality Certification and the launch of the “3 Safety” program organized by CPV Food.

The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Wirat Wongpornpakdee, Vice President of C.P. Vietnam; Ms. Oraparn Mungmisri, Director of the Global Standard System Center at CPF Thailand; Ms. Watchara Ponrong, Head of Product Technical Department at the British Standards Institution (BSI) Thailand; along with business partners, customers, and representatives from media agencies.

Reinforcing C.P. Group’s Position within the Global Food Ecosystem
A key highlight of the event was CPV Food’s official receipt of the Integrated International Quality Certification CPF Food Standard PS 7818:2023, abbreviated as CPF Food Standard. This integrated quality management system was established by CPF, the flagship food business unit of the C.P. Group, to standardize food production operations across C.P.’s global supply chain — from farm to family.

This certification framework was jointly developed, assessed, and independently verified by the British Standards Institution (BSI), thereby enhancing transparency and strengthening market confidence in the company’s food production system. A distinctive feature of this standard is its end-to-end supply chain governance approach. Rather than evaluating individual factories separately, the standard aims to standardize the entire operational system — from feed production, hatchery operations, and livestock farming to slaughtering and food processing. The system also integrates multiple international management requirements into a unified framework, including HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRC, and other internationally recognized practices related to food safety, quality management, traceability, and sustainable development.

The achievement of CPV Food Binh Phuoc as the first facility in Vietnam and outside Thailand, as well as the second facility across the entire CPF network to receive this certification, demonstrates C.P. Vietnam Corporation’s capability in implementing globally aligned integrated management standards. This milestone also marks an important step forward in the standardization of Vietnam’s fully integrated production model, contributing to greater consistency in quality, safety, and traceability across the food industry.

Raising Domestic Market Standards Through an Integrated Management Model

The implementation of the CPF Food Standard at CPV Food Binh Phuoc not only supports export operations but also contributes to improving the quality of products supplied to the domestic market. For consumers, the value of this certification lies in the fact that products are produced within a fully controlled supply chain — from input materials to finished products — with traceability and independent verification by a third-party organization. As part of the event, delegates attended the certification presentation ceremony, learned about the “3 Safety” program, and toured the animal feed mill and food processing plant at CPV Food Bình Phước. The visit provided firsthand insight into how the “Farm-to-Table” approach and the integrated Feed–Farm–Food model are implemented in practice.

The CPV Food Binh Phuoc Complex, with a total investment of approximately USD 250 million, serves as one of the key foundations supporting C.P. Vietnam Corporation’s strategy to develop a modern food value chain. Through this integrated production system, the company currently supplies processed chicken products to multiple international markets, including Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

From a local government perspective, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Environment, highly appreciated the significance of the CPV Food Binh Phuoc Complex in supporting the development orientation of the local livestock and food industries. “The CPV FOOD Complex is one of the most modern food investment projects in Dong Nai in particular and in Vietnam as a whole,” Mr. Nguyen Van Thang shared.

He also noted that the closed-loop supply chain model — spanning feed production, farming, and food processing — represents a sustainable development direction that meets standards related to animal welfare, HALAL-compliant slaughtering practices, biosecurity, and food safety requirements established by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH/OIE) and importing countries.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Wirat Wongpornpakdee, Vice President of C.P. Vietnam Corporation, stated: “Achieving the CPF Food Standard certification marks an important milestone in C.P. Vietnam’s journey toward elevating food production standards. We remain committed to enabling domestic consumers to access safe, high-quality products with clear traceability, while progressively enhancing the global competitiveness of processed food products made in Vietnam.”

Mr. Wirat Wongpornpakdee, Vice President of C.P. Vietnam, shares the company’s direction for enhancing food production standards.

“BSI would like to extend our congratulations to CPV Food on this new milestone achievement. The standard awarded today serves as an important foundation for improving operational efficiency and strengthening customer confidence. With a solid foundation and the strong commitment of the entire team, BSI believes that CPV Food will continue to leverage this standard as a driving force to further enhance its management systems and achieve its long-term sustainable development goals,” shared Ms. Watchara Ponrong, Head of Product Technical Department at British Standards Institution Thailand.

Ms. Watchara Ponrong, Head of Product Technical Department at BSI Thailand, highly appreciated CPV Food’s integrated management system and sustainable development orientation.

Launch of the “3 Safety” Program: A Commitment to Raising Safety Standards in Vietnam

Alongside receiving the international certification, CPV Food officially launched the “3 Safety” program, comprising: Safety for Consumer Health, Safety Throughout the Production Chain, and Safety Through Certified Suppliers. The program is designed to translate international management standards into commitments that are more recognizable and meaningful to Vietnamese consumers.

For consumers, the “3 Safety” program means that products are controlled throughout the entire process — from pre-production to market distribution. Rather than being inspected only at the final stage, each product is managed comprehensively from raw materials, production conditions, and processing procedures to storage and finished products, providing consumers with greater confidence when selecting food products for their families.
