C.P. Vietnam has officially announced the completion of its goal to plant 1.5 million trees during the 2021-2025 period at the recent “Innovation & SHE Sustainability 2025” event. The initiative forms part of the campaign “C.P. Vietnam - Journey for a Greener Vietnam,” deployed across all factories, farms, and multiple localities nationwide, contributing to greener spaces and emissions reduction in line with the company’s sustainability strategy.

C.P. Vietnam has officially completed its goal of planting 1,5 million trees
The program was carried out in support of the Government’s “1 Billion Trees” initiative and the C.P. Group’s target of planting 20 million trees. Since 2021, C.P. Vietnam has implemented tree-planting activities at its production facilities and collaborated with local authorities and social organizations across various provinces and cities.

Planting activities across branches and factories
According to the summary report, a total of 1,520,468 trees have been planted - exceeding the original target.
This includes:
- Over 506,000 trees planted across factories and farms
- Over 1 million trees planted in collaboration with local communities in six provinces
More than 57 hectares of planted forest have officially met the criteria of “established forest,” with a tree survival rate above 85%. This achievement reflects the company’s consistent commitment, proactive implementation, and effective collaboration with partners both inside and outside the organization.
By 2030, the trees planted through this initiative are estimated to absorb over 38,000 tons of CO₂, contributing to Vietnam’s national emission-reduction goals and the country’s green-growth strategies. In addition to environmental benefits, the project has raised public awareness and encouraged active participation from local communities, citizens, and social organizations.

A Comprehensive Sustainability Strategy Across Operations and Communities
Alongside its nationwide tree-planting program, C.P. Vietnam continues to advance sustainability through its 3SMART model (Smart Sourcing – Smart Production – Smart Consumption) that strengthens resource efficiency throughout the value chain. Since 2021, the company has completely eliminated the use of coal and increased the share of renewable energy such as solar power, biomass, and biogas. Integrated biogas systems are operated at farms to treat waste and reduce emissions. In packaging, C.P. Vietnam participates in PRO Vietnam and implements the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, with a long-term target: 100% of food packaging to be recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2030.

C.P. Vietnam adopts renewable energy across production
The tree-planting initiative has expanded green areas in multiple localities while raising environmental awareness among communities. At the same time, C.P. Vietnam’s sustainability practices across environment, society and governance have been widely recognized, earning the company numerous awards including Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam (CSI), Top 10 ASEAN Green Growth Brands, as well as several ESG accolades at both national and international levels.
Representative from C.P. Vietnam, Mr. Worawit Arunraksa – Director of Sustainability at C.P. Vietnam, shared: “The completion of 1.5 million trees is the result of continuous collaboration between businesses, authorities and communities. We will continue expanding sustainability initiatives to further contribute to the environment and society in the coming phases.”
