Dong Nai, May 31, 2025 - In response to World Environment Day on June 5 with the global theme “Beat Plastic Pollution,” C.P. Vietnam Corporation (CPV) is honored to accompany the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai Province, the People’s Committee of Dinh Quan District, and relevant departments in launching the program “Green Dong Nai Week in response to World Environment Day 2025.” The initiative aims to spread awareness about environmental protection and promote a sustainable lifestyle within the community.
The event is not only an opportunity to reaffirm the role and responsibility of society in addressing environmental challenges, but also a call for collective, tangible action from organizations, businesses, and citizens. It encourages the shift toward a circular economy, reduction of plastic waste, and the protection of natural resources and biodiversity. As plastic pollution emerges as one of the most urgent global issues, the message of this year’s World Environment Day holds even greater significance - particularly for Vietnam, a country facing an escalating volume of plastic waste in urban and coastal areas.
Dong Nai Green Week launch ceremony took place at the Multi-purpose Stadium in Dinh Quan District, located in Hiep Dong Quarter, Dinh Quan Town, Dong Nai Province, with nearly 1,500 attendees including provincial government representatives, mass organizations, businesses, students, and local communities. The program featured a series of vibrant awareness activities such as tree planting in the stadium’s compound and surrounding areas, a parade of nearly 100 participants using promotional vehicles and bicycles, and recycling booths where hazardous waste and recyclables could be exchanged for gifts. These were not merely symbolic gestures but inspirational efforts promoting a greener, more mindful, and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
