On the morning of December 19, 2024, in Bien Hoa - Dong Nai, the program titled “Communication Conference to Raise Awareness and Mindset on Environmental Protection in Aquaculture Activities; Joint Action to Reduce Ocean Plastic Waste in the Aquaculture Sector in Dong Nai Province in 2024” took place. The event was chaired by the leadership of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and attended by over 100 delegates.
Overview of the Conference
The event welcomed Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Nai, Ms. Do Thi Thu Thuy - Deputy Head of the Dong Nai Sub-Department of Fisheries, along with representatives from various departments, local authorities, and enterprises. Participants discussed initiatives to combat plastic waste, protect the environment in general, and specifically preserve aquatic resources within Dong Nai Province.

Representing C.P. Vietnam Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Le Huy Vu - Vice President of the Dong Nai Aqua Feed Mill, presented a speech titled “Actions for a Sustainable Aquatic Environment.” He shared solutions for controlling environmental pollution, especially plastic waste in agricultural and aquaculture production, in connection with efforts to reduce ocean plastic waste and the company’s broader environmental protection initiatives.

Through the program, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development acknowledged the efforts and proactive actions of all parties in minimizing the impacts of plastic waste and hazardous waste in the fisheries sector. It is hoped that with the joint efforts of all stakeholders, these actions will lead to positive changes, contributing to the development of the fisheries sector in parallel with the protection of the environment and aquatic ecosystems, ensuring a clean and green future for generations to come.
