The “Coastal Cleanup – Let’s Clean Up the Beach 2026” program aims to raise community awareness of reducing plastic waste, sorting waste at source, and developing environmentally responsible habits in daily life.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Vuong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation in Rach Dua Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Chi Linh beach area frequently receives waste washed ashore by waves from the sea and surrounding areas, affecting environmental hygiene and the coastal landscape. According to him, cooperation among businesses, local authorities, youth union members, young people, and local forces not only contributes to cleaning up the beach but also promotes a sense of responsibility and encourages the community to work together to protect the marine environment.

Six years of taking action for the marine environment
“Beach cleanup” is one of the environmental initiatives that C.P. Vietnam has maintained annually. In 2026, the company marks the sixth year of implementing this activity, with the aim of turning small actions into lasting changes in community awareness and habits.
Through beach cleanup programs carried out in collaboration with various partners over the years, the total amount of marine waste collected had exceeded 4 tonnes by 2026.
At C.P. Vietnam, marine environmental protection begins with concrete actions in daily operations, such as reducing single-use plastics, sorting waste at source, reusing, and recycling. These actions are encouraged at workplaces, in families, and across communities, contributing to more responsible resource use and reducing environmental impacts.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Worawit Arunraksa, Director of Sustainability at C.P. Vietnam, said that environmental protection, particularly waste management, plays an important role in the company’s sustainable development direction. C.P. Vietnam is gradually implementing waste management solutions aligned with the circular economy, with a focus on reducing unnecessary plastic use and promoting reuse and recycling.
He also said that in the coming period, C.P. Vietnam hopes to further strengthen cooperation among businesses, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders to promote effective waste management solutions and expand reuse and recycling within the community.
From small actions to lasting change
One of the highlights of the program was the participation of many C.P. Vietnam employees and their children. By directly collecting and sorting waste such as plastic bags, plastic bottles, foam boxes, and pieces of glass, the children had the opportunity to develop an awareness of environmental protection through hands-on experiences.

This is also one of the values the program seeks to promote: environmental protection is not the responsibility of a single organization or group of people, but should become a regular action for every individual.
“Every piece of plastic waste picked up today means saving a marine creature and restoring a blue ocean.” This is the message C.P. Vietnam hopes to continue spreading through the program.

Through concrete actions, the “Let’s Clean Up the Beach 2026” program helps raise awareness of environmental protection and reduce marine waste
The journey toward “Clean Beaches – Green Oceans” therefore does not end after a single day of action. It continues through responsible choices in everyday life—from reducing single-use plastics and sorting and disposing of waste properly to working together to preserve a green, clean, and sustainable living environment for future generations.
